Just ask...
...anything. this is a place you can actually ask any question and you're sure to get a decent and honest answer. we're bound to cover issues ranging from:
- relationship advice
- spiritual concerns
- family troubles
- homework issues
- or even a conspiracy or two.lol
i'm sure the ones out there to help will do their best to find an answer for you. the more challenging, the better! if it's too much of a serious question, it'll probably be better to organise it out of the forum. otherwise please make use of this section as freely as you want.
have fun brothers and sisters. remember, if you've got a question...just ask!

Re: Just ask...
how do babies think?
y'kno for example, if they're hungry ... how does a baby think to itself and say
"I'm hungry" when the baby has no idea how he/she feels and also a baby doesn't
have any language, so he/she can't really think to itself.
Also, could a blind person (from birth) imagine what a colour would look like?

Based on what little research i could string together, i've come up with a few answers to your questions.
thinking has it's basic relations to "memory". nothing can be thought about if there is no memory of it being done. sure there is imagination but apparently thought comes from the actions we make. a human ponders without knowing it by their actions. you can sort of say that the mind has discussions with itself about the "feelings/emotions" and actions of a past moment/s when "it" thinks. i got the rest of the answer from a website:
"...we associate things with our senses (stimulations) and it is the good and bad things which guide us. as children we have a memory of the exact stimulations we had at that specific moment, which also forms a picture in our mind with certain "feelings" associated with them.
randomly things relavant to the current situation flash in our mind. like pictures with feelings and we then decide (mostly subconsciously) which to act upon. its more like falling into preset actions. choosing to act upon one or several of these preset actions and learning to define these actions as good or bad for the situation and using trial and error until we learn which is best for that situation."
i suppose we think based on what we already know. so to answer your first question regarding, "how do babies think?" yes, they do! even though they may not have the most obvious way to show it by talking. they can show it through their actions. a baby can easily categorise things just by trial and error as well. for example, notice how a baby learns by doing? would we be able to walk if we never saw our parents doing it themselves? as such, a baby sees itself finding a "goal" and "thinking" to accomplish it through actions made from their "senses". their "feelings" become that particular experience and will always have a "memory" of it for future reference. that's probably the best answer i could give you with that question...
Now your last question, which i found very interesting, i had to relate to the concept of dreams. when it comes to blind people, there are two categories: those who are born blind and those who become blind due to certain circumstances. those of the latter, see colours in their dreams but the intensity of colours would most likely be associated with the time they last saw them or even remember them. now apparently those who are born blind do not see colours in their dreams. their dreams are engineered with sounds and emotions; their dreams aren't visual experiences.
ultimately, a blind person shouldn't be able to imagine what colour looks like for they have nothing to associate "colour" with at all. whereas one who lived with sight and lost it would be due to memory.
hope that helps you out! cheers.

Re: Just ask...
Doing what i would be doing right now! Is that right Je? lol
Ok here's a question.
How come bad people are bad if it was in God's plan for them to be bad?
For example, Judas betrayed Jesus so people think he was bad but if it wasn't for him, God's will to save humanity would not have been fullfilled.
Shouldn't that make him good?

Bad People?
God does have a plan... however if there's one thing we've learnt which makes our God soooo great is that even though he is powerful enough to create every living being on earth, he's still humble and brave enough to give us 'mere-beings' the freedom of choice.
So what i think is that he creates heaps of endless possibilities, however in the end of the day it's up to us to decide which door to open. Does that make sense? Sorry if it doesn't. Hahaha. Well have a good day y'all

Re: Just ask...
Windows movie maker, just drag and drop your file then save it as something smaller
and it'll auto compress it to whatever size u specify
=)

Re: Just ask...
how can u change a 495MB video file to 50MB without changing the quality. is it even posssbile? are swinburne lecturers stupid?
Re: Just ask...
hmm i highly doubt it, in all my video editing expertise i don't think it's possible to reduce a file's
size to 1/10th it's original, whilst maintaining immaculate image and sound quality. You're free
to try it, but the actual image size of the video may come out smaller and the sound will be possibly
butchered, chopped and majorily out of sync. But if you find a program that'll do the job, then
gimme dat!
(hmm, I think Ate Mia, would know. I once recall her saying something about compressing
vid files.)
oh and swinburne lecturers ... I wouldn't kno, cause I usually skip my lectures
(and darn you ty, you made me wna sound all smart and sophisticated in my reply hehe)

good answer gly. endless possibilities...yep that sounds convincing
Re: Just ask...
Because God is able to do the impossible and create things that we are left to ponder - us pondering about the unobtainable universe leaves proof of God's power and the beauty of his creation.
Plus as we live longer on this earth, we tend to find things in this universe which leaves us amazed and curious - God gives us that ability; nothing's ever old for us, there's always something to venture into and realise about - with what God is capable of.
Oh and if the universe was just earth, it would not be fair for astronomers, they wouldnt have a job, God caters for all people hahaha.

jason abella aka rain wrote:Why do you think God created a seemingly endless universe?
I really don't know the answer 'cause i'm not God obviously. Hahaha... but i think:
It's because of God's love.
God's love = endless AND unconditional
Just like why he created earth and life on it, is so that he can share the love that he has, he needs to project it on something... So maybe that's why God created the universe to be endless because all he can do is create and keep giving on an endless account? (That's how gggreat he is)
Sorry if it didn't make sense and was a bit far fetched but that's just one thought. Maybe you can expand on that 'theory' yourself jase? Well seeing as we're here, what are you thoughts on the reasoning behind the 'seemingly endless universe' Jason? And what made you think of that question? (Btw good question, really makes you think - something i should stop doing though... LOL)

Re: Just ask...
lol thanks rix n gly for providing some crazy but credible explanations. ok gly.. the reason why i asked this question was simply to try n waste ppls time to think about it. hahaha jks nah the real reason was that i was having such a boring train ride home that the random thought of it just popped up in my head. hehehe
well... now u got me thinking about it hahaha. i think that God created such a ginormous universe so that in the future, when we over populate earth, we may migrate to other places in the universe. Of course, we have to wait till our technology becomes more advanced.
ok this might sound pretty stupid n out-of-this-world (literally speaking) but i believe there are aliens somewhere out there. Maybe some good looking ones aswell haha jk
It's possible yeh guys?

Re: Just ask...
hello again, another question!!
God is love and God loves all things
God also created evil things
So does God love evil things? Ok he still loves evil people but does he love the Devil? Satan? Hell?

I don't necessarily think that God creates evil things... it just goes back to the whole 'freedom of choice' which then results in evil ways.
However as for your question about 'does God love evil things?' From what i've learnt is that you're suppose to 'hate the sin but not the sinner'... so i'm guessing we get that from God right. 'Cause it'll be kinda contradictory if he loves evil.... so yes, Hate the sin but not the sinner
Hope that's shed some light upon that thought of yours Jase... and again... good question mate!

Re: Just ask...
ok since this forum seems a bit dead atm n i'm feeling bored, i'm just gna answer my own question.
yes, god does love satan.
because...
one, god says love your enemies because.. i dunno... i guess he is love therefore it is only natural for him to love. yeh i guess that sounds plausible.
and two, god loves satan or lucifer (whatever) so much that he provided him with a freedom to love. So by providing satan with the freedom to love, it is the same as giving him the freedom to hate. unfortunately, he chose to hate.

Re: Just ask...
ok the answer i just provided lead me to another question. i really hope someone apart from myself will answer!
is it possible for us to pray for satan so that one day he changes his mind and becomes good? yeh... because we dont know if satan is pure evil or if evil is pure evil. Plus, God's love is so powerful that anything can happen. What if everyone in the whole wide world prayed for satan to be good? maybe that miracle can happen trueeee?
